UCR Registration Fees to Increase for 2027
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has approved a fee increase for the Unified Carrier Registration Plan. The new rates will apply starting in the 2027 registration year.
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has updated the rules for annual Unified Carrier Registration fees. Participating states will collect these fees from motor carriers, private carriers, brokers, freight forwarders, and leasing companies.
The UCR Board recommended a fee increase for the 2027 registration year and future years. FMCSA has adopted this recommendation.
The new fees average a 20 percent increase over the rates used in 2025 and 2026. The exact increase depends on the fee bracket for each company. Increases range from $9 to $9,329 per entity.
The 2027 fees will be lower than the fees charged between 2019 and 2022.
