The new rates take effect on October 1, 2026. Carriers can submit petitions for reconsideration by that same date.

The Unified Carrier Registration fees will increase for the 2027 registration year. The change applies to motor carriers, motor private carriers of property, brokers, freight forwarders, and leasing companies.

The new fee structure takes effect on October 1, 2026. The increase averages 20 percent over the fees used in 2025 and 2026. Individual fee increases range from $9 to $9,329 per entity, depending on the applicable fee bracket.

The 2027 fees will be higher than the current rates. They will remain lower than the fees charged during the 2019 through 2022 registration years. Petitions for reconsideration of this final rule must be submitted to the FMCSA Administrator no later than October 1, 2026.
